Manufacturing Technologies for Fashion, Art and Design

Bond Factory partner of the "Giacca sartoriale 4.0" project at Maker Faire

A project where tailoring and technology melt together thanks to the skills and experience of Bond Factory and the commitment of the young designers of ITS Moda di Pescara.

Maker Faire | 12-14 October 2018 | Rome

Bond Factory and Tombolini participated in the project "Giacca Sartoriale 4.0", of the "Istituto Tecnico Superiore Moda Pescara", selected among 250 ITS projects.

The two companies in the textile sector have accompanied the young designers in the realization of the designed garments, providing their textile skills and their technologies.

The aim was the evolution of male tailoring jackets through technical interventions and technological fabrics, modeling them "tailored" towards two distinct profiles: "the young representative", traveler with the need of a perfect garment, for whom it was packaged a sartorial base jacket, with technological details, and "the avant-garde architect", not a lover of the bag, for whom a technological jacket has been designed with sartorial details and "hidden pockets".

Bond Factory supported the project with its experience in the technologies applied to the craftsmanship of the garments, while Tombolini provided the sartorial expertise of the classic garment.

The two companies, therefore, allowed the success of the project during the exhibition at the Maker Faire event in Rome held from 12 to 14 October 2018. The innovative context of the fair allowed to get in touch with different realities in the fields of new technologies and fashion, giving visibility to both partner companies and young designers. "Giacca Sartoriale 4.0" is included in the national "ITS 4.0" program, sponsored by the MIUR and by the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice, and addressed to all the Higher Institutes of Fashion.

The characteristics of classicality and innovation have highlighted the possibility of creating "digitalmanufacturing" garments thanks to the synergy between the different participants.
